Bree is suck and fees is higher than payday lender

Bree gives you zero flexibility. They don’t let you pick a repayment option; you are strictly locked into your next paycheque date no matter what. Because of that short timeline, the 'standard' free transfer takes too long, forcing you to pay their exorbitant 'express' fees just to get the money when you actually need it. And then, on top of the massive fee, they still have the nerve to ask for a tip! It’s a completely predatory system disguised as a helpful app. I am so relieved to see a class action registry finally being built against these guys. Count me in.

I actually sat down and did the math on my recent advance, and it blew my mind. I always thought the absolute legal limit for a short-term loan in this province was $15 for every $100 borrowed. But once Bree tacks on their progressive 'express funding' fee and the heavily pressured tip, the total cost blows right past that legal cap. They are charging way more than 15% for a tiny advance. It feels like they are operating as an unlicensed payday lender just to bypass the law and overcharge people.

bait and switch. After giving them full access to my banking data, I was 'pre-approved' for a measly $15. But when I actually tried to get the money, they rejected me claiming I didn't have 'enough bank transactions'—even though I have steady, regular deposits twice a month! How does the number of debit swipes dictate if I can pay back 15 bucks? I’ve used other cash advance apps with no issues. It feels like they just use ridiculous excuses to harvest your bank data without actually providing a service.

Total bait. After giving them all my personal data, connecting my bank accoubt and paying the monthly fee, they offered me an advance of exactly $20 WTF. But to get the $20 instantly, I have to pay a $4.99 fee and they ask for a tip. It makes zero financial sense. Deleted the app immediately.

Once you link your bank account, you are trapped. I realized the fees were too high and tried to delete my banking info and close my account. Every single time I click 'remove bank', the app conveniently crashes. I emailed support requesting they delete my data, and I just get automated bot replies. I literally had to pay my bank to put a stop payment on them.

They claim to offer 0% interest, which is highly misleading. I needed a $100 advance. The 'standard free' transfer takes days, so you are basically forced to pay the $9 'Fast Funds' fee if it's an actual emergency. Then, the app heavily pressures you to leave a tip. If you try to tip zero, your approval magically gets delayed. I ended up paying $14 in fees to borrow $100 for one week. If you actually do the math, that's an Annual Percentage Rate (APR) of over 700%. It’s a predatory loan in disguise.

Downloaded this because their ads said 'borrow up to $750'. I linked my bank account, paid the $2.99 membership fee, and was immediately told I qualify for $0. They’ve been charging me the monthly fee for three months now, and I still can't get an advance. I'm paying a subscription for absolutely nothing."

I used Bree for a $50 advance to cover groceries until payday. They attempted to pull the repayment out of my checking account 3 days early! When it bounced, their system tried two more times on the exact same day. My bank hit me with $135 in NSF fees for a $50 loan. I tried contacting support to stop the auto-withdrawals, but it’s impossible to reach a human. An app that's supposed to help you avoid overdrafts literally pushed me into massive bank debt. Stay away
